Behavioral Plasticity in a Changing World: Biologging as a Key to Understanding Animal Adaptability

How do animals adapt to global change?
The LOEWE Research Cluster VEBITA funded through LOEWE uses animal sensor data to investigate how animal behavior changes along environmental gradients such as climate and land use. The goal is to develop a dynamic Knowledge Hub that brings together behavioral traits, anomalies, and indicators for different groups of species. This hub will be integrated into Senckenberg’s infrastructure as a digital collection and made available for research, conservation, and industry. VEBITA will enable the early detection of human impacts on biodiversity and support evidence-based decision-making.
